Pegs.....

My latest project was inspired by an abundance of small children's size coat hangers!!!  I seemed to have hundreds of them, all over the place, becoming annoying, and not being useful.  So, I decided to give them a second chance and turn them into something useful and fun.  Hey presto, peg bags!!

The material is a wonderful sparkly denim which my Mum found in a box and donated to me.  The lining is old bed sheets! And all the mini clothes on the lines are made from old baby clothes.

So far, I have made about 6 peg bags - and they have made their way to various clothes lines of various friends.  Here are an example of todays creations (one for my friend Kirsty who has her birthday tomorrow)

Anyone got any other tutorials or recommendations for some different styles of peg bags I could make?

  1. Hello, Your peg bags are great! I just took a bunch to the charity shop, or I'd be copying you! Thanks for commenting on my blog :) You are a no-reply blogger so I couldn't reply to you directly. The elephant pin cushion you asked about is from a Heather Bailey Pattern called Effie and Ollie, I bought it on Etsy.

  2. Lovely Peg bags!! Thank you for comments on my blog... I must admit I almost enjoy the fact that maybe no one reads my drivel but when a comment comes it surprises me how lovely it is!!
Good luck with blogging - you'll be taking pictures of everything now.

  4. Hi again, (sorry I couldn't find your name anywhere!). I've just tried to reply to the comments you left me but you are showing as 'no reply comment blogger'. You need to change the settings of your blog so that replies come into your email inbox. Anyway, my reply was 'Thanks so much for your lovely comments and visiting my blog. I've popped over to Second Chance and love what you're doing there! Keep going. So glad I've been able to inspire you a wee bit. Unfortunately I'm in the process of turning my bag designs into patterns to sell, so I can't put out a tutorial for the boxy bag. My advice would be to start with your tote pattern and make changes to the shape/dimensions of it and just experiment until you get a new bag! I'd love to see some pics if you create something new! Good luck!' Judith xo

  5. There are peg bag patterns in the Cath Kidston sew book, and Emma Hardy's Sewing in no Time if you happen to have those? Yours are lovely though - stick with them!

  6. Hi, I still can't reply to your comments via email, so am having to reply this way! So glad you liked the tissue pouches. If you can get packets of tissues for 12p that's an absolute bargain - 99p here! We don't have that shop you mentioned - boo! Anyway, I may do a tutorial on the tissue pouches after my christmas classes - sorry to keep you waiting, but need to get those over first. Chat soon, Jxo
